International tenders

Mallory International was founded as a specialist business bidding for aid funded projects, mostly of secondary schoolbooks. The company now does many other things, but tendering for international and national contracts, at both secondary and tertiary level, remains an important element of our business.

A complete contracts list is available on request, but it is worth mentioning the following in particular:

  • We have won at tender a number of framework contracts, of which the most important are with Addis Ababa University and Makerere University, for both books and journals. For these contracts the initial tender sets the conditions, prices, and service standards for ongoing supply over a longer period, typically three years.
  • We are also consistently successful at one-off tenders, and have supplied contracts funded a wide range of multilateral donors, notably the World Bank (typically IDA), the African Development Fund, the European Union, the Inter-American Development Bank; along with many others.

Recent important contracts have been:

  • supply of books to Hawassa University, Ethiopia (own budget);
  • supply of books and anatomical models to colleges in Uganda (European Union funds);
  • supply of textbooks to the Ministry of Education in Zanzibar (World Bank funds);
  • supply of tertiary books to the Department of State for Education in Gambia (World Bank funds);
  • supply of books, journals and DVDs to the Ministry of Trade in Ethiopia (Ethiopian Government funds); and
  • supply of books and CDs to medical colleges in Liberia (World bank funds).
