Here we list those who work for Mallory in the UK. Our head office is based in Aylesbeare, Devon, within the warehouse where we store and prepare our books for shipment.

We are constantly in contact with our customers, suppliers and representatives in all parts of the world.

Julian Hardinge

Julian Hardinge has been Chairman and Chief Executive of Mallory International since June 2002. He has been involved in export bookselling for over 25 years, and has chaired both the Export and the College and University Groups of the Booksellers Association. He has been Chairman of Batch.co.uk, the UK Book Trade’s payment allocation and clearing system. He has sat on the Knowledge and Information Advisory Committee of the British Council, and was a Director of Book Tokens Ltd for 20 years. He is honorary Vice-President for Life of the Booksellers Association, and is the bookselling representative on the International Board of the Publishers Association of the United Kingdom.

Ulrike Hardinge

Ulrike Hardinge has twenty years’ experience of export bookselling. She ran the Journals Department and later the Overseas Books operations of the Osiandersche Buchhandel in Tuebingen, Germany for many years, and subsequently headed the automation unit of the Library Supply Division at John Smith & Son in Glasgow. She leads the tertiary supply operations of Mallory International, and is in charge of the company’s systems and automation development.

Sophie Hardinge-Walsh

Sophie joined the company in October 2007. She has substantial experience of Africa, including four years as both a director and project manager for an NGO (Azafady) in Madagascar. She has been an executive director of Mallory since 2011, and is in charge of staffing, training, and organisational matters. She also looks after key customer accounts, particularly in Uganda, Zambia and Malawi.

Sancha Rees

Sancha Rees joined Mallory in September 2003. She is the key contact for non-tender book quotations and fulfilment, particularly in Ethiopia, but also in other countries in anglophone Africa. She also plays a major role in the preparation and fulfilment of major tenders.

Mathieu Peligry

Mathieu joined Mallory International in March 2009. He has business qualifications in both France and the UK. He is now managing the Academic and Business Customers team.

Rachel Jiménez Dickson

Rachel joined Mallory International in 2006 with a BA Hons in Hispanic Studies and after two years with us took a year’s break in Mexico. She rejoined Mallory in 2009 as our school supplies executive and has been responsible for developing the educational resources side of the business, building relationships with suppliers and coordinating the School Books Manager database. She is fluent in Spanish.

Alison Osborne

Alison Osborne is our Accounts manager, and deals with Supplier and Customer payments, receivables and reconciliations.

Annie Amirda

Annie joined Mallory International in April 2014 and works for the Academic and Business Customers team. She studied English and Spanish at the University of La Sorbonne in Paris where she lived, then worked for several international organisations. In 2003, she left France to settle on the volcanic island of Montserrat in the West Indies where she taught French for 6 years before relocating to the UK.

Jacky Beauchamp

Jacky Beauchamp joined Mallory International in June 2009, and is in charge of journal subscriptions and consolidation. She is the main contact point for any questions relating to the pricing and supply of periodicals.

Marta Carbonell

Marta joined Mallory International’s Tenders team in March 2017 after moving from Spain where she was born. She graduated with a BA in Translation and Interpreting and holds a Master’s degree in Editing and Publishing.  She has always been passionate about books. Marta is a native Spanish and Catalan speaker.

Alejandra Cossio-Martínez

Alejandra joined Mallory in September 2016. She graduated with a BA in Economics, International Relations and Russian from the University of Exeter. She is originally from Mexico and therefore a native Spanish speaker; she also speaks Russian. Alejandra deals mostly with customers in Spain, Uganda and Uzbekistan. She enjoys travelling and taking photos in her free time.

Gary Davies

Gary joined Mallory as an account clerk in September 2012. Gary has a degree in Accountancy and Finance and he is originally from Harare, Zimbabwe.

Stefania Feraru

Stefania joined Mallory in July 2017. She is responsible for customers in Nigeria, Tanzania and Namibia as part of the Schools Team. A native of Romania, she also lived in Germany before moving to the UK. She is fluent in both those languages. She enjoys spending time with her family in the countryside around Devon.

Vic Gazis

Vic originally joined the warehouse team at Mallory whilst completing his PhD in Sociology at Exeter University. After working for Mallory in Malawi for two months he became a permanent member of the Schools Team where his customers include schools in Malawi, Rwanda, The Philippines and Hong Kong.

David Johnson

David started working at Mallory in June 2014 and is a member of the Academic and Business Customers Team, working mainly with the supply of academic journals and magazines; as well as frequent maintenance on company databases including the LPEB catalogue and the Schoolbooks Manager.

Jan Langmaier

Jan joined us in April 2017 when we acquired the educational side of ADC Blackfire, Prague. Jan has years of experience working with International Schools and now looks after all our customers in the Czech Republic, Slovenia and Austria.

Jan attended Ghent University in Belgium and then graduated with a master’s degree in Economics and Rural Development at the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague.

In Jan’s spare time he enjoys travelling, modern art, tennis, good food and spending time with his friends.

Haydn Mullineux

Haydn joined Mallory International in February 2012 and is part of the Tenders Team after working in the Academic and Business Customers team for two years. He has a BA in Ancient History and Archaeology and recently spent six years in Berlin, Germany working as a journalist and website editor.

Olivia Perkins

Olivia joined Mallory’s Schools Team in February 2017, after 5 years teaching French and Spanish at a secondary school. She is fluent in French, Spanish and Italian and loves to travel so she can use her languages as much as possible. She takes care of the customers in central and eastern Europe and Rwanda. Olivia is a keen scuba diver and loves to spend her free time cooking and visiting the beaches around Devon.

Magali Savoye

Magali joined Mallory International in September 2013 and is part of our International School Team.
She left France in 2001 and has a Business Enterprise Degree from Plymouth University. She is the main contact for schools in French speaking countries.

Christian Hardinge-Walsh

Christian Hardinge-Walsh took over as Warehouse Manager in July 2010, and has been responsible for a substantial reorganisation of the warehouse systems to deal with increasing turnover.

Robert Baxter

Robert Baxter took up an appointment as Warehouse Assistant in October 2010. Robert is also a keen photographer, with various examples of his work on this website.

Martin joined Mallory in June 2012. He is part of our warehouse team and has previous experience in goods handling.

Sue Horn

Sue joined Mallory in 2015 to assist the warehouse team with its growing activity. She became a full-time staff member in April 2017 as Warehouse assistant. She previously worked for British department store House of Fraser as a liaison officer in relation to stock control.

Andy Taylor

Andy joined Mallory in December 2017 as a warehouse assistant. Previously, he worked as a taxi driver then was a pub manager for 5 years.
